Washtenaw County Writing Center
The folks behind the student writing center at Ann Arbor’s Skyline High School wanted to find a way to create the same sort of student-led success they’d had across more high schools in the area. While there was a small amount of traction in individual districts, it was clear an even better solution would be a county-wide, online writing center with minimal barriers for involvement and inclusivity

Roles
👨💼 Creative Director
✳️ Brand Designer
The team came to me with clear goals: they needed a logo for the newly created Washtenaw County Writing Center for Secondary Students (we all agreed that WCWC was probably a useful shorthand) and a brand identity that was easily usable, understandable, and malleable as students took over the organization (and the design of the outgoing materials).
The work produced was enthusiastically accepted by the leadership at the WCWC, and adopted well in the group’s self-produced materials.
The fresh, fun, yet scholastic wordmark began to define what the WCWC brand would be.
Dolan’s creativity, professionalism, and thoughtfulness were amazing. Additionally, he was personable, fun, and incredibly easy to work with. This was a highly enjoyable and satisfying experience and project.
